Instagram expands to iPad, betting big on Reels to challenge TikTok

New Delhi: After the news came about the TikTok in which some sources clarify that it is not coming to India, and it is still ban, but Instagram has some fear in that, that’s why recently they have unveils a dedicated iPad application, which is going to take place its short-form video feature Reels at the centre of the resdesigned interface as the parent company Meta intensifies competition with the TikTok. This application is going to address the longstanding complaints about Instagram’s iPad experience, which previously required using a scaled-up iPhone version with blurry visuals and missing features.

This latest application is available globally on devices running iPadOS 15.1 and later, opens directly to the Reels feed, a place where Instagram calls lean-back entertainment, with Stories pinned at the top and one-tap access to messaging. Reels, which accounts for the more than 20% of time users spend on the Instagram, represents a central pillar in Meta’s strategy to boost engagement across the platforms in the competitive short-form video in the market and in their platforms.

The iPad application is following the tab with the multiple viewing options, including the recommended posts, content from the mutual followers and the chronological feeds. Users can reorder the feed options to prioritise content. The interface will support the multitasking layouts that will show the messages and the notifications side by side, and the comments will expand without interrupting video playback. This specially introduced application is now free on Apple’s App Store, where users can download this application and enjoy their reels.
