New Delhi: Recently, Huawei has officially introduced its latest Huawei Pura X View. It has now moved beyond the earlier leak stage, having officially debuted in China on August 20, 2026. It is particularly interesting because Huawei has taken the wide-screen concept from the foldable Pura X and put it into a regular, non-folding smartphone body. It features a 6.39-inch OLED display with an unusual 16:9:5 aspect ratio. The company stated it offers more usable display area than many conventional 6.9-inch displays.
It has up to 6,500nits of peak brightness with a screen-to-body ratio around 96.1% and very slim 1.05mm bezels. It has a massive 7,000mAh battery, which is one of the device’s biggest highlights. It weighs around 201g, making the large battery particularly impressive for such a thin device. It has up to 12GB RAM and 512GB onboard storage. Huawei Pura X View is expected to run on Huawei’s newer HarmonyOS 7, with the software optimizations specially designed around the wider display.
But the biggest story isn’t simply the specs; Huawei is essentially taking the 16:10-style wide screen used by the Pura X Foldable and removing the hinge altogether. The original Pura X has a 6.3-inch 16:10 internal display when unfolded. The Pura X View keeps the wide-screen philosophy but uses a conventional candybar design. It should make the device particularly useful for watching videos, gaming, reading documents and browsing websites, where the wider display can offer more horizontal space and reduce unused areas around 16:9 content.
However, the international availability and pricing still it remains unclear by the company. Recent reports suggested that the device is being unveiled in China first, with pre-orders underway and sales scheduled for later in August. Several earlier leaks have mentioned a Kirin 9-series processor and dual 50MP cameras, but it might be best to treat those details cautiously until Huawei’s complete specs sheet confirms them. Several earlier reports did point toward a 6.39-inch wide display, a 7,000mAh battery, and camera updates.
