New Delhi: HP has recently come out with its latest OMEN laptops at CES 2026. For a long time, OMEN and HyperX have been two different brands: HyperX for gaming peripherals and OMEN for gaming laptops. But currently, these two brands have been unified to introduce the HyperX Omen Max 16 proudly. This latest flagship device can be configured with Nvidia’s RTX 5090 laptop GPU with 24GB of VRAM, paired with a next-generation Intel processor. HP claims the system can draw up to 300W of total power without relying on any external cooling solutions.
HP has redesigned the thermal system with a triple-fan setup and paired it with the massive 460W GaN charger. The company stated this enables the laptop to charge up to 50% in roughly 30 minutes, which is impressive considering how power hungry this machine can get under load. The HyperX Omen Max 16 receives a 16-inch OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate, a 1000Hz keyboard polling rate, and support for up to 64GB of DDR5 memory, along with PCIe Gen 5 storage. HP has also added AI-powered system tuning software that dynamically adjusts performance, noise, and visuals depending on the game users are playing.
It supports a broader range of Intel and AMD processors paired with RTX 5060 and RTX 5070 GPUs, and caps out at 200W of total platform power. The display remains sharp but drops to 165Hz, making it a more sensible option for gamers who want strong performance without stepping into extreme territory. The Omen 15 rounds out the lineup as the most accessible option, with configurations spanning multiple Intel and AMD chips and GPUs ranging from RTX 505 to RTX 5070. This model is clearly designed to appeal to a broader audience.
