New Delhi: Google is undergoing a makeover of all its applications, from Gemini to Chrome. Recently, they announced artificial intelligence upgrades for their Chrome browser, which are specifically designed to make it brighter, safer, and more productive for users. These latest AI features will shift the browsing experience of Chrome users from traditional web browsing to a more productive, context-aware experience. This latest AI update for Chrome is Google’s browsing assistant, Gemini AI. The AI assistance in Chrome will help users answer questions about the articles, understand the content across multiple tabs, and even it will find the references inside the YouTube videos. These features will roll out to Mac and Windows users in the United States, and they will later arrive on Android and iOS. Google has also confirmed that it will be integrating Gemini AI assistant into the Google services, such as Docs and Calendar, to make it easier for users to manage research, workflows, and day-to-day tasks. Along with the AI assistance, Google is also updating the Chrome omnibox, which is commonly known as the address bar. The latest AI mode will enable users to ask complex, multi-part questions directly from the omnibox, get context-aware suggestions, and follow up with additional queries.
Google has also confirmed one thing: it will be expanding both language and regional support, though specific timelines have not yet been disclosed. The upgrades will appear first on the desktop platforms, followed by the mobile devices. Google is going to expand AI use to keep users safe from scams and online threats. Chrome will now more securely autofill login credentials, block the latest scam attempts, fix compromised passwords, filter spammy notifications, and simply manage sensitive privacy permissions. Google reveals that these AI-powered protections have already reduced scammy notifications on Android by around 3 billion per day.
