New Delhi: Google is continuously enhancing Gemini so that all users become smarter and can easily access this AI model for all of their personal tasks. Users who play games on Android devices can now use a gaming coach to get tips without having to open the Gemini applications separately. Google has stated that the Play Games Sidekick will serve as the screen overlay on the games downloaded from the Play Store. Users can ask the AI for real-time guidance and tips for the games.
We’re bringing more fun to the games you love across all the devices you play on. 🎉

Google has also promised that the sidekick uses Gemini, and the players can hold real-time conversations just like the regular Gemini applications. The sidekick utilises Gemini Live’s screen-sharing capabilities to understand context and can even provide the relevant walkthroughs. Not only does the sidekick serve the gaming coach in real-time, but it will also provide relevant information about the game on the overlay, which can help players be up to date with the game at the entry level. Google is also supporting a select number of games with the Play Games Sidekick. However, the company plans on expanding support in the coming months.
The Sidekicks’ real-time coaching capabilities are similar to Google’s Circle to Search feature, though this feature was restricted to selected devices when it comes to the games. Along with this, Google Play Games Sidekick will be open for all Android devices. Google is overhauling Play Games; apart from the latest gaming coach, the company is also updating gamer profiles. The users will be able to track all of their stats and achievements through a single Google Play Games profile. Earlier, the stats were disconnected for the variety of actors, including the different platforms, devices and games.
Now, Google is unveiling its own league, the Play Games League. It will likely work as a global leaderboard for players with Google Play profiles. It is likely that each game will have its own league. Players at the top of the league will earn the Play Points rewards. The first Google Play Games League will start on October 10 for the game, Subway Surfers. The company has also claimed that the league will end on October 23, 2025. For the gamers, these features will be the most useful; they can instantly see their profile and their gaming stats on the sidekick, and that will be easy access for them.
