New Delhi: Google officially introduced its latest set of upgrades for its Workspace platform at the Cloud Next 2026 event, with its aim on AI and automation. This latest features include interactive dashboards in Sheets, automated meeting summaries in Meet, and AI-powered task handling via Gemini.
It also aims to simplify everyday work and improve productivity across applications like Sheets, Meet, Chrome, and Gemini.
These upgrades are a system called Workspace Intelligence, which is specially designed to bring together user data, projects, and collaborations across applications into a unified view. It can also analyze relationships between files, emails, and workflows to deliver more useful outputs.
Users can now import data from third-party platforms like HubSpot and Salesforce, and create interactive dashboards, heat maps, and other visual tools directly within Sheets. These act like small applications built on top of existing data.
The company also unveils skills in Workspace, which enables users to automate repetitive tasks. Google Meet has also expanded AI support with its Take Notes for Me feature. It can now also generate summaries and action points from meetings, even if they are held offline or on other platforms like Zoom and Teams.
Latest AI Avatars can be used to create videos with custom branding in Google Vids. This enables the AI to complete multi-step tasks across websites and applications while maintaining enterprise-level security controls.
These latest tools for developers and businesses include the Workspace MCP Server, which enables AI apps to connect with Workspace data securely. The latest governance controls are in place to monitor how the AI agents access data.
Google is also adding options to store and process data in specific regions, alongside client-side encryption for added security.
