New Delhi: Google Pixel users have recently reported that they are experiencing battery drain after software update of April 2026 update. Some of the users have complained about those unusually fast battery drain, and Google has started to looking into these issues that the users are facing. The issue has gained significant attention on Google’s Issue Tracker, where hundreds of users have shared similar experiences.

Some threads also reported receiving several comments within a short period, indicating that the issue might be widespread. Users have also raised many concerns on platforms like Reddit, highlighting the same battery-related issues.

Some users have also reported that their devices continue to run processes even when the screen is off and the device is not in use. This constant background activity is believed to be draining the battery faster than usual.

Whereas other users have stated the battery drain continues even when the device is in Flight mode, suggesting that the issue might not be related to network usage. In several cases, the users have reported that their battery life has dropped significantly, with the screen-on time reduced to just a few hours or nearly half.

Google has also reported and acknowledged the issue on April 14 and has since been asking affected users to submit bug reports. Google is still investigating the cause, and there is currently no confirmed fix available.

However, there is no official timeline for the solution; but the reports indicated that Google might address the issue in its next monthly upgrade. The May upgrade, expected in the coming weeks, might include the fix if the root cause is identified in time. But for now, the users experiencing the issue might have to wait for an official upgrade as Google continues its investigation.
