New Delhi: Google has officially announced a latest set of upgrades for its Google TV that will bring AI tools for creating images and videos, improve access to Google Photos, and add a new way to watch short-form video from the home screen itself.
Google has stated that these features will roll out in phases, with several initially, which are limited to Gemini-allowed devices in the US. With this upgrade, users are able to generate images and videos directly on their TV by using the voice prompts.
Google’s AI-powered image generation and editing tool, Nano Banana, enables users to edit or transform photos by describing changes.
Its text-to-video model Veo can also create short videos or animate existing images based on the text input. These tools can be accessed on the TV via a dedicated Gemini tab.
These features will roll out first on Gemini-allowed TCL Google TVs in the US. Users will also be able to search their Google Photos library by using voice commands, such as looking up specific trips or events. Images can be viewed in full screen or turned into slideshows.
The latest Remix options enable users to apply styles such as watercolor or oil painting directly on the TV.
Users can also set Google Photos albums as dynamic slideshows. These display images in collage-style layouts with changing formats. This feature will be available globally on eligible Google TVs. They are also adding the short videos for you row on the home screen.
That will surface a personalized feed of short-form content, by sharing with the YouTube Shorts, by enabling the users to watch clips without opening any separate application.
