New Delhi: Google is expanding the capabilities of its Gemini Artificial Intelligence platform as competition among global technology companies continues to grow. The company is adding new features across Search, Android, Workspace, Cloud, and developer tools to make Gemini more useful for both consumers and businesses.
Gemini has become Google’s flagship AI model, replacing many of its earlier AI systems. It is now integrated into Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Meet, and other Workspace applications, where it helps users write emails, summarize documents, create presentations, analyze data, and improve productivity.
Google is also enhancing AI-powered Search with AI-generated summaries, helping users find information faster. In Android, Gemini is gradually replacing Google Assistant, allowing users to complete more complex tasks through natural conversations. Developers can also access Gemini through Google’s AI Studio and Vertex AI platform to build AI-powered applications.
To support growing demand, Google continues investing billions of dollars in AI infrastructure, including advanced data centres, custom Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), and cloud computing services. These investments help train larger AI models while improving speed and reducing operating costs.
CEO Sundar Pichai has repeatedly stated that AI is one of Google’s biggest long-term priorities. The company is focusing on responsible AI development while improving accuracy, security, and transparency across its AI products.
Competition has become much stronger as Microsoft expands Copilot, OpenAI improves ChatGPT, Meta develops Llama, and xAI continues advancing Grok. This has encouraged Google to release faster updates and introduce new Gemini features more frequently.
