Global recall Xiaomi pulls 20,000mAh Power Banks over safety issues

New Delhi: Could this be the reason Xiaomi has fallen globally? In some recent reports, it has come to light that Xiaomi has officially announced worldwide that they have recalled their 33W 20000mAh Power Bank, with the integrated cable, following an earlier recall in China. This move will target model number PB2030MI, which is produced between August and September 2024. The company has stated that some actions are being taken to address potential safety concerns, with the 146,891 units identified for the recall and the refund.

Now there are many questions that why Xiaomi has recall their power bank, in this power bank they have used the 126280 version of 2.0 battery cell, which could overheat in the specific situations and it will create risk of the fire, which is dangerous thing to notice in this power bank, that will be very risky for the users to use this power bank in their regular routine. Nearly 147,000 devices have been sold worldwide, which are included in the recall. Customers can verify whether their units are affected by checking the serial number printed on the back side of the product.

Xiaomi has also provided an online verification tool, in which the devices with the missing or unreadable serial numbers are excluded from the refund processes. The eligible customers can claim a full refund valued at Rs 1,940. Customers may visit any of the Xiaomi Home stores, where the staff will confirm the eligibility and issue a refund. Users can drain the power bank, safely dispose of it, upload disposal proof, and submit product details through Xiaomi’s official website to claim their refund. The company further clarified that other Xiaomi power banks use different battery cells and are not part of the recall.

There all aimed to provided safety versions of the products to the users, for their safety in terms of anything, and this mistake they have made this time, so many of the users trust should be down for the brand that will be bad sign for their product and for their brand value also, they have clarified the statement and their product, but by this also users trust will get down for the brand, so this might an one more reason for the downfall of the Xiaomi brand.
