New Delhi: Google has officially reported that it might roll out its major redesign upgrade for its Gemini application, unveiling changes to its interface and layout. This upgrade revamps nearly every part of the application, from the homepage to chat interactions, while adding more visual experience.
This rollout appears limited, with only a small number of iOS users seeing the upgrade. Its wider release timeline, by including Android availability, remains unclear.
One of the most highlighted changes on the homepage is that Gemini now features the pill-shaped prompt box. It includes an input field, which includes quick access to voice input and Gemini Live on the right, while the latest plus button opens the bottom sheet.
This sheet also offers access to features such as Photos, Camera, recent images, Files, Notebooks, and additional uploads, by making media and file handling more streamlined.
Google is also unveiling the unified tools section within the application. Users can also find options such as Images, Videos, Music, Canvas, Deep Research, and Guided Learning listed together with brief descriptions.
This approach has been experimented with across the Android and desktop web versions and is already live on Gemini for Mac.
Another change Google has made is the refreshed homepage greeting, which also now reads, which is placed centrally with the Gemini spark icon above it. The background has been redesigned with a color gradient that subtly pulses, offering the application a more dynamic look.
Navigation has also been upgraded; the model picker has been returned to the top-left corner as a dropdown, while the account switcher has been moved to the bottom of the navigation drawer, a shift from Google’s usual layout. This application also now uses thinner, rounded icons for a cleaner visual style.
