New Delhi: We know that AI is now everywhere, not just in simple text, but it is now in AI-generated video and images, dubbed with the AI slop, which are now flooding the internet, particularly on social media. Some of the gaming companies are taking things a step further with the AI. Sony’s latest AI-powered character prototype was recently leaked in some sources. However, it also seems that the world of Grand Theft Auto will remain untouched by AI, as far as Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick is concerned.
There are many users who know that Take-Two own the Rockstar Games, the company behind the GTA franchise. In a conversation with Carolyn Dailey, Strauss Zelnick had added to detail the creative process that goes behind making a latest video game, something that focuses on staying away from derivative and copycat works. He also added, as quoted by Gamesradar, “In Hollywood it’s very common to pitch your product as it’s a combination of Spiderman meets Batman meets Back to the future, we don’t do that here, we want something that you’ve never seen before.”
Originality plays a crucial role in making a game a success, according to Strauss Zelnick. This is not possible with AI in its current form, as it relies on preexisting data. He also explained that,” this is why I’m not worried about AI creating hits, because it’s built on data that already exists. It’s backwards-looking.” The CEO, Strauss Zelnick, ’s team include the best creators who are urged to pursue their passions. This, in turn, can enable the team to build something new and exciting for the gamers, something that AI may not be able to do.
The Take-Two CEO also conducted, big hits are forward-looking and therefore need to be created out of thin air, being the most creative means, not just thinking outside the box, it also means there is no box. AI may be able to remake a GTA game, but going by Zelnick’s comments, it would not create something new and exciting in the world of Grand Theft Auto for fans.
