New Delhi: On August 21, Parliament passed a strict Promotion and Regulation against the Online Gaming Bill, and this latest bill has been passed by both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, which places most of the ban on real-money online games. It is designed to curb addiction, financial ruin and social distress caused by these misleading promises of quick wealth for the users, in which they fall easily just by the word of quick wealth. In 2025, the government banned multiple betting applications; the majority of these applications have been banned because they were allegedly responsible for promoting unauthorised gambling activities on their platforms.
So let’s see those applications which have been banned recently by Parliament, which involve the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha:
- Winaura: Unauthorised gambling platform
- Winstler42: Violation of gambling regulations
- Casinohermes Unregulated gambling platform
- Amunra1: Unlicensed gambling activities
- Polymarket: Non-compliance with financial regulations
Other than these five applications, the central government has also banned almost 174 betting and gaming applications in December 2023. Some of the applications on the banned list then were Mahadev, Parimatch, Fairplay, 1XBET, Lotus365, Dafabet, and Betwaysetta. Along with these, many of the other gambling applications have banned Betway, MELBET, Andarbahar Poker, Big Winner, Live Blackjack, Fun88, PokerStars, BetM and much more. Most of the companies have also confirmed that the players’ funds are secure in MPL, Games24x7, My11Circle, PokerBaazi, and Zupee, and said the withdrawals can be done smoothly, even though fresh deposits are blocked. WinZO said it has removed the affected from August 22, while Probo has already discontinued all money-related formats.
