Based on the extensive play testing and leaked footage of the game, Battlefield 6 represents a return to the franchise’s roots. This game will feature a modern warfare setting, just like our beloved titles, Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. According to some sources, details in the trailer’s artwork suggest that they can expect a return of the classic class system, including Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon, each equipped with the signature weapons, traits, and gadgets that provide special benefits in-game.
This video game also promises to enhance the destruction mechanics and large-scale multiplayer combat that the series is known for. Players will be able to choose between class-locked weapons or open loadout options, allowing both veterans and newcomers to enjoy the game with the added customisation. However, Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 6 will feature a single-player campaign as well. Battlefield 6 is targeting an October 2025 release for the PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. This game will be available in Standard and Phantom editions, with the pre-orders starting later this month.
In terms of gameplay features, leaks suggest that custom weapon drops, vehicle containers locked behind keycard requirements, and priority missions that offer valuable rewards will be present in the Battle Royale mode. Another leak on the subject has hinted at an Oversight System, which allows eliminated players to help their surviving teammates by operating drones, cameras, and turrets.
An open beta is confirmed and is expected to launch in August 2025. This speculation is based on EA App API data, which shows build publication dates. This beta will give players substantial time to experience the game’s development and offer feedback to EA for further improvements in this video game.
