New Delhi: For several years, Samsung has followed its predictable pattern by announcing its Galaxy S Ultra models in January. However, the latest information from the South Korean industry sources has indicated that the company is reworking its launch schedule for the Galaxy S26 series, resulting in a noticeable delay compared to the earlier expectations. According to some latest reports, Samsung is now likely to host its Galaxy Unpacked event in mid-February 2026 instead of January. This shift would take place at the Galaxy S26 Ultra launch, a few weeks later than its predecessor.
Retail availability is now expected to follow roughly two weeks after the official unveiling, by suggesting that the devices could reach stores by late February or early March. Despite the delays, Samsung is still expected to complete the unveiling before the major global industry events such as the Mobile World Congress, which usually begins in early March. This would enable Samsung to showcase its latest hardware and software updates ahead of its competitors at the annual trade show. The reports have delays that appear to be linked to changes in Samsung’s product strategy. The company has also stated that it is reassessing the composition of its flagship lineup, with the adjustments to models positioned between the base Galaxy S26 and the Ultra version.
Pricing considerations, component availability, and the internal decisions around the performance upgrades are also believed to have influenced the revised schedule. Another factor could be Samsung’s chipset plans, and reports also suggested that the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to use Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon processor globally, a move that may require additional validation and supply coordination before mass production begins. While the official specifications remain limited, leaks also suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will continue to focus on the camera performance, display quality, and on-device AI features. Samsung is also expected to highlight software improvements along with the hardware updates at the launch.
