New Delhi: We all know that recently, WhatsApp has announced that they are working on the latest features that could enable users to text people on other messaging platforms. After this announcement, there was complete silence for the WhatsApp rival Arattai, but after this silence, Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu shared a post seeking the users’ feedback on how end-to-end encryption should be applied across Arattai, the company’s WhatsApp rival. After sharing this, he also gave two options: system-wide or giving a user the choice to pick individual chats to be in end-to-end encryption mode.

Sridhar Vembu has also shared a status update on the X platform, where he announced that the company will be moving forward with system-wide encryption. In that post, he also revealed that the feature will be deployed in the coming days, and he added that it will be a forced upgrade for its Arattai. If all goes well, they will plan to deploy in a few days. It will be a forced upgrade for all because it is a drastic change. He also added that, “we had to do some redesign around it, and we wanted extensive testing because it is a drastic change. It is now being tested by about 6,000 people in the company. They have identified some of the issues and have fixed them.
They are doing one more round of testing on the latest build that has fixed the issues that were identified. If all goes well, they will generally plan to deploy in a few days. Meanwhile, they can upgrade the application, and while it already has the code for mandatory end-to-end encryption, it won’t work until they enable it, and they will do it after another round of testing. This application is also faster and sleeker now, which users can experience, Sridhar Vembu said.
