New Delhi: We all know that in some reports it was reported that Apple is focusing on launching its first-ever foldable device, the rumoured iPhone fold. And these rumours have been around for a long time, but there is still no response from the company about these rumours. But as per some reports, the Cupertino giant is ready to enter the foldable smartphone market next year finally. And by these reports, it is also indicated that the upcoming iPhone fold is likely to be the most expensive iPhone ever made by the company. Those reports suggested that Apple may price the foldable iPhone at $2,399 (roughly Rs 2,15,000) in the US. This would not only make it the most expensive iPhone, but also the costliest foldable device out there.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 was launched at a price of $1,999 (roughly Rs 1,78,000) in the US. Apple will charge a hefty premium for its foldable device compared to its peers. The iPhone fold will likely have a higher price tag if the device is launched in India, as is the case with the other iPhone devices. The foldable iPhone will be expensive because of the premium components that Apple plans to use. As per some reports, the display panel and hinge will push pricing toward the upper end of the market expectations. Apple is expected to use an almost crease-free display for the inner screen of the iPhone fold.
In rumours, the iPhone fold is expected to pack a 7.8-inch OLED inner display, and the cover screen is expected to be a 5.5-inch OLED panel. The inner display could pack a 24MP under-display selfie camera sensor. The foldable iPhone is also reported to have Touch ID instead of Face ID. Apple is expected to back battery of at least 5,400mAh capacity in the iPhone fold, making it the largest battery ever in an iPhone. The device is likely to use the rumoured A20 Pro processor, the same as the iPhone 18 Pro models. The foldable iPhone is expected to be launched alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models in September 2026. This is believed to be part of Apple’s plan to have two iPhone launches next year. The base iPhone 18 will likely launch along with the iPhone 18e and the next-generation iPhone Air in early 2027.
