End of an era YouTube finally says Goodbye to Trending after 10 year

New Delhi: YouTube Trending section, by which the users get to know which video or which podcast is trending in the various categories, is going to say goodbye to this Trending section from their platform after a long 10 years. Back in 2015, the Trending page showed the most viewed and viral content to users from various categories. By this, users came to know which type of content is popular on YouTube, which was very helpful for the new content creators to decide which type of content they might get into.

But according to the recent announcement post, which is shared by YouTube on YouTube’s help page, Trends today are far more diverse than they are meant to be; that is why YouTube is replacing the Trending section with a category-specific chart. Further, users can explore the category-specific content on YouTube charts.

It already has sections like Trending music videos, weekly top podcasts, popular movie trailers, and YouTube is planning to add more in the future. For other types of content, users can personalise the category-specific chart in the application.

Meaghan, spokesperson from the YouTube team, has discussed the reason why YouTube is saying goodbye to the trending section. He said that, “Viewers increasingly learn about the trend, in different places across YouTube, from recommendations and search suggestions to Shorts, comments and community. With these shifts, we’ve seen visits to the Trending page decrease significantly in the last five years; that’s why YouTube has now decided to get rid of the Trending page.

When YouTube introduced the Trending Section, it became the epicentre of YouTube, and for the users, they can easily find the top featured videos, which get more views and top content, making it easy for the users to find the content they want. By the category-specific charts, the user will get the most viewed content, top podcasts of the week, and the latest movie trailer that gets the most views.
