Disney+ tests ‘Verts’ vertical video experience for mobile users

New Delhi: Disney+ has officially announced its latest feature called Verts, the vertical video feed that lets users discover content on the platform. This feature also enables users to scroll through short clips from the movies and shows available on Disney+, helping them find something to watch without browsing much.

This latest feature has been started to rolling out to Disney+ subscribers only in the US, and it is now available inside the Disney+ mobile applications. Verts was first announced at the CES 2026, marking Disney’s entry into short-form vertical video within its streaming service.

Netflix has also announced a similar vertical video feed last year that lets users scroll through short clips from its shows and movies. Verts has appeared as the latest icon in the navigation bar on the Disney+ application. When the users tap on the icon, they enter the vertical video feed where they can swipe through the clips taken from the different titles available on the platform.

This feed shows the short scenes and moments from the Disney+ movies and shows. The users can directly start watching the full title or add it to their Watchlist for later.

This feature is especially designed to make it convenient for users to explore its content catalogue, which also includes titles across the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and other brands. The Verts experience is also supported by the recommendation algorithm that indicates clips based on individual viewing preferences.

The feed might show some different content to different users, depending on what they watch on the platform.

This current rollout is only the first phase of the feature. Disney also plans to expand Verts over time and explore additional uses beyond content discovery.

In future updates, it could include the latest types of story formats, more personalized experiences, and potentially content from the creators connected to Disney’s fan communities.
