New Delhi: Mini India has recently introduced its all-new Cooper S Convertible in the country at an ex-showroom price of Rs 58.50 lakh, bringing with it its latest design language, upgraded performance and digitised interior experience. The model comes to India as a completely built-up unit, with the booking open at the authorised Mini dealerships and deliveries beginning immediately. Described by the brand as an antidote to the ordinary, the Mini Convertible continues to embody Mini’s free-spirited charm, offering open-top motoring with a distinctly modern twist.
The latest Mini Convertible retains its instantly recognisable silhouette but comes with refined elements that sharpen its character. The redesigned front fascia features the brand’s trademark round LED headlights that now offer three distinct light signatures, complemented by the latest grille and clean, athletic surfaces. Vertically aligned flush LED taillights and a wide horizontal trim bar with model badging add to its stance. The car is available in four colours: British Racing Green, Chilli Red, Sunny Side Yellow and Ocean Wave Green, paired with Black or White mirror caps, along with the 18-inch aerodynamically optimised alloys in Slide Spoke 2-tone or Flash Spoke 2-tone designs.
The electrically operated black fabric roof remains at the heart of the Convertible’s appeal. It opens fully in 18 seconds, even at speeds up to 30 km/h, and can partially retract to function as a 40cm sunroof at any speed. When opened, the car offers 160 litres of luggage space, which increases to 215 litres with the roof closed. The combination of quick operation, flexibility and unfiltered sky access makes it an inviting option for everyday city driving as well as scenic road trips.
The cabin of the latest Mini Convertible draws inspiration from the classic Mini while embracing a thoroughly modern digital environment. Its centre is the 240mm circular OLED touchscreen, known as the Mini Interaction Unit, integrating the instrument cluster and infotainment controls. Powered by Mini Operating System 9, the interface is smartphone-inspired and highly intuitive. The Mini Intelligent Personal Assistant, activated through Hey MINI, enables voice-based control over navigation, telephony, media and more.
The latest Mini Convertible S is powered by the 2.0-litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine that produces 204bhp and 300Nm of torque. The car sprints from 0 to 100kmph in just 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 240kmph. The engine comes paired with a 7-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission. Despite the stronger performance, the car delivers a claimed fuel economy of 16.82km/l and CO emissions of 141g/km.
