Maruti Suzuki Crosses 2 Lakh Domestic Sales for the First Time, Sets New Monthly Record

New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki gets New Monthly Record of 1.06 Lakh Domestic Sales and crosses 2 Lakes Clubhouse for the first time.

In July 2026, Maruti Suzuki India sold its highest number of units in the country for the first time in its history of 2 lakh units. The high performance was buoyed by growth across the various vehicle segments such as small cars, hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs as well as commercial vehicles.

There was a total demand of 2,00,123 cars in the domestic market during July in the country’s largest carmaker. This included passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles. The company sold 1,41,210 units as compared to July last year when it sold 1,40,570 units.

The new figure is also higher than the previous record of domestic sales by Maruti Suzuki in May 2026 of 1,93,535.

Domestic sales of passenger vehicles were 1,96,203 and grew by over 42% from a year ago. The company’s excellent performance resulted in a rise in demand in most key segments.

Mini cars (Alto and S-Presso) were up 85% from a year ago and sold 12,634 units. The sales of popular models like Swift, Baleno, Dzire and WagonR in the compact and mid-size car segment totalled 90,822 vehicles, rising almost 38% from the previous year.

In the case of utility vehicle segment, Maruti Suzuki has had a decent growth. The growth in sales of SUVs and multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) was almost 49% (78,851 units). These are models like the Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, XL6, Jimny, Invicto, Victoris and e Vitara.

The company also stated that the van segment is on the growth as well. The Eeco saw sales increase more than 12% in the month to 13,896 units.

The sales of the Super Carry light commercial vehicle increased by over 40 per cent to 3,920. Other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) sold almost 37% more, as well.

Though domestic sales are good, exports of Maruti Suzuki have dipped. 30,056 vehicles were exported in July, up from 31,745 in July of last year. This was approximately 5% less than usual.

But the dip in exports didn’t significantly affect the firm’s overall monthly results. Maruti Suzuki’s total sales including domestic passenger vehicle sales, light commercial vehicle sales, supplies to other manufacturers and exports came to 2,41,421 in July.

The company’s total sales rose by almost 34% from July 2025, when total sales were 1,80,526, as compared to July 2026.
