New Delhi: Land Rover Classic has expanded the customisation options for its classic Defender V8 range by enabling buyers to spec their retro off-roader in the same colours and materials offered on the brand’s flagship performance SUV, the Defender OCTA. The update brings five latest exterior shades to the Classic Defender V8, including Petra Copper, Faroe Green and Sargasso Blue finishes exclusive to the OCTA, as well as Narvik Black and Patagonia White. These join the existing palette of greys already available. Each vehicle reported spends nearly 300 hours in the paint shop, and buyers can choose between gloss or stain effect that mimics the OCTA’s Matte Protective Film.
The cabin also receives a modern twist, for the first time, Land Rover Classic is offering Ultrafabrics PU upholstery on the retro Defender available in colours like Khaki Green, Lunar and Light Cloud. Semi-aniline Burnt Sienna leather and Ebony leather round out the choices, and customers can opt for heated sport seats and detailed colour-matched trim throughout the cabin. A few design elements have also been lifted directly from the OCTA, including a gloss-black radiator grille, improved cooling and chopped carbon bonnet script.
Under the skin, the Classic Defender V8 continues with its re-engineered setup, a 5.0-litre V8 producing 405bhp, paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Suspension, steering and braking systems are also upgraded to modern standards, and customers can add infotainment enhancements, crystal lighting packs and a wide selection of wheel designs. Each vehicle is hand-built to order by the Classic Works team using donor models from 2012 to 2016.
