KTM 1390 Super Duke RR slims down in latest leak

New Delhi: According to some sources, news about the upcoming KTM 1390 Super Duke RR has been leaked through the homologation documents filed in Europe. People now know that the bike will be lighter by 12kg compared to the standard R variant, and it could feature a lot more premium components. The KTM 1390 Super Duke RR will be a more capable variant in the 1390 Super Duke lineup and will be lighter than the R variant by 8.5kg.

The R variant weighs 212.5kg fully fueled. To achieve weight reduction, the brand has likely used the same set of upgrades that were applied to the KTM 1290 Super Duke RR. This will include an Akrapovic exhaust, lighter alloy wheels, a lithium-ion battery and carbon fibre components. Lastly, the homologation documents also reveal slightly longer handlebars, but this is likely because of the addition of lever guards. The documents have not shown any other information about the suspension setup, but people believe it will likely feature the WP semi-active suspension like the EVO R.

Aside from these changes, the bike largely remains similar to the standard model in terms of performance. It will still be powered by the same 1350cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine, which produces 187.4bhp and 145Nm. The brand has not yet revealed any details regarding the bike’s launch timeline. But with some of the recent developments, such as Bajaj gaining a majority stake in KTM’s parent company, the Austrian bikemaker should be back on the track to expand its product portfolio. The Super Duke 1390 RR will only be available in limited numbers, similar to how the Super Duke 1290 RR was limited to 500 units.
