Harley-Davidson announces X440T: All you need to know before launch

New Delhi: We all know Harley Davidson is in a partnership with Hero MotoCorp; they have recently taken the wraps off the latest X440T ahead of its market launch. The company will launch the model during the coming weekend. The model, coming from the X440 family, shares a lot of components and mechanicals, albeit with a few noticeable changes. At first glance, the X440T clearly distinguishes itself with the revised rear section. The tail now features a longer, sleeker cowl. Harley has also reworked the seat, and the pillion now gets chunkier grab handles.

The tail section is noticeably longer than before, and the rear fender is different. Harley Davidson has unveiled four colour options for the X440T, including Blue, White, Red and Black. The motorcycle also sports the fresh Harley Davidson X440T graphics along with the chequered-flag styled units on the side panels. While the front fascia appears to be familiar, the X440T gets a few latest touches, such as bar-end mirrors and black painted front fenders.

The updated styling, the motorcycle stays close to the original X440 in terms of hardware; it continues with the same 440cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slip and assist clutch. In the X400, it makes 27 27hp and 38 N · m. Here, it might be tuned differently to suit the character of the latest model. The trellis frame layout is unchanged, and the suspension setup, including the 43mm USD forks and the 7-step preload adjustable twin rear shocks, is expected to be carried over. It is expected to get the same 3.5-inch circular TFT display as the X44, complete with smartphone connectivity and navigation support. However, one major upgrade could be the addition of ride-by-wire technology and features like multiple ride modes and traction control. Dual-channel ABS will continue to be a part of the standard safety package.
