New Delhi: The toughest Defender ever just got a whole lot bolder. The newly unveiled Defender Octa Black turns the brand’s high-performance SUV into an all-black beast, built for both extreme terrains and maximum street presence. Finished in Narvik Black, the most intense black in the Defender palette, Octa Black wears its new look with purpose. A total of 30 exterior elements are treated in either Gloss or Satin Black, from the front undershield and scuff plates to the tow eye covers and quad exhaust tips. Even underbody parts, such as the exhaust silencer cover and optional towbar, receive the stealth treatment. Buyers can further enhance the theme with an optional matte protective film and 22-inch gloss black wheels.

Inside, the cabin introduces Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather, paired with Kvadrat upholstery, to the Defender lineup for the first time. The performance seats feature the latest perforation pattern and stitching, while Carpathian Grey seat backs and trim add subtle contrast. Optional Chopped Carbon Fibre finishes are also available for those wanting a more aggressive interior edge.
Beneath the styling upgrades, Octa Black retains the same brute performance as the standard OCTA, a 626bhp 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8, paired with a 6D Dynamics suspension system and a dedicated Octa Mode for high-performance off-road driving. The front seats are equipped with Body and Soul Seats technology, allowing occupants to feel music through vibrations, powered by a 700W Meridian audio system and audio technology developed in collaboration with SUBPAC.
It also gets the latest updates from across the Defender range, including a 13.1-inch touchscreen, new LED headlight graphics, and flush rear lights with smoked lenses. Octa Black joins the performance lineup alongside new colour variants like Sargasso Blue and Borasco Grey, with a Patagonia White Matte Wrap due later in the year. The launch also aligns with the Defender’s role as official partner of the Oasis Live 25 world tour, which kicks off today in the UK, giving the Octa Black a global stage to showcase its new aesthetic.
The standard Defender OCTA made its debut in India in March this year, carrying a price tag of Rs 2.59 crore ex-showroom. It remains to be seen when the black edition will be introduced in India.
