New Delhi: Bajaj Auto has recently expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the introduction of its latest Chetak C25 for Rs 91,399 ex-showroom, a city-focused EV for each of us and practical everyday riding. The Chetak C25 is a 2.5kWh battery pack, which is stated to deliver an IDC certified range of 113 km per charge. Power is supplied to a hub-mounted motor, which is tuned for smooth and predictable performance. The zero-emission scooter has a top speed of 55 kmph. Using an off-board 750w charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 2 hours and 25 minutes, and a full charge takes 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Baja has also included an on-the-go charging facility, enabling riders to power external devices such as smartphones or accessories during rides. The Chetak C25 is built around a metal body despite being priced competitively against models from Ola, TVS, Vida, Ather and others. The Bajaj Chetak C25 arrives with an IP67 rating, which ensures resistance against water and dust, along with the mud-proof construction for all-weather reliability. Safety hardware comprises a front disc brake and a rear drum brake and is suspended on telescopic forks and twin shocks. In terms of ride and practicality, the scooter features a ground clearance of 170 mm.
A low seat height of 763 mm is accompanied by kerb weight stands of 108 kg. The scooter also boasts a tight turning radius of 1,825 mm. Storage has been thoughtfully addressed with the 25 litres of under-seat space, which is sufficient to accommodate a helmet or daily essentials. The Chetak C25 gets a colour LCD display, reverse assist, Eco and Sport ride modes, and call accept and reject functionality. Optional TecPac features add functions such as hill hold, music control, and guide-me home lighting. The Bajaj backs the scooter with the standard warranty of 3 years or 50,000 km.
