New Delhi: Apple might be gearing up to introduce its budget-friendly MacBook model in the coming months. As per some reports, it has suggested that the latest entry-level MacBook is expected to arrive in several new colour options. Apple has also reported testing shades such as light yellow, light green, blue, pink, classic silver, and dark grey. The low-cost MacBook could be announced at an event in March. Apple is also experimenting with more playful colour choices for this model. Apple has tested the light yellow and light green, alongside blue and pink.
More traditional finishes like the silver and dark grey are also stated to be under consideration. If these colours make it to the final product, it would mark a big shift from the more muted tones usually seen in the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro lineup. The low-cost MacBook might be powered by the A18 Pro processor, a similar processor that is used in the iPhone 16 lineup, instead of using the usual M-series chip found in the current Macs. The A18 Pro processor has been reported to deliver performance in certain tasks that comes close to Apple’s original M1 chip.
This upcoming lower-cost MacBook might feature a more compact 12.9-inch display, which is pretty noticeable because it is smaller than the 13.6-inch panel on the MacBook Air. The device is not expected to use plastic, despite the possibility of being a cost-cutting option. Apple is stated to be working on an aluminium manufacturing process that is faster and more cost-effective than the one used for current MacBook models.
