New Delhi: Apple has recently unveiled two new phones: the Apple iPhone 18 Pro and the Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max. These are, the company claims, ‘the most sophisticated Pro phones the company had ever produced’, and feature substantial enhancements in the camera, battery, speed and AI.
A Smarter, More Flexible Camera
The most noticeable difference is in the camera. The new 48MP Primary sensor now has “variable aperture”. This translates to the camera adjusting its aperture by itself according to the lighting conditions. It works better in low-light situations, provides a clearer background in group photos and can produce more interesting effects during photography. Users who prefer to manually tweak their shots can also do so in the Camera app’s new “Pro controls.” Better too was the video, with video effects that could be added after filming, and clearer voices recording.
Apple’s other feature, Reference Image. It’s allowing users to verify that a photo has not been manipulated or fabricated, a feature that could be helpful for photographers and journalists who have to prove that a picture is true.
Faster Chip, Better Battery
Both of the new phones use Apple’s most recent chip, codenamed the A20 Pro. If users are thinking about it in terms of speed, it’s even more faster than previous iPhone models, and if users are thinking about it in terms of power efficiency, it’s even more so than it was before. This chip also going to features with a more robust cooling system within the phone and is now able to keep as cool as possible when it is performing intense tasks such as gaming without getting hot.
Battery life was also significantly improved. Apple claims the iPhone 18 Pro Max has the largest battery improvement in the history of the iPhone. Up to 45 hours of video, on a single charge, Apple says. There are also improvements when it comes to charging time in 50% in just 15 minutes using a wired charger.
A Smarter Siri
The new phones are running iOS 27, which features an enhanced version of Apple’s voice assistant, Siri. It’s been improved and renamed Siri AI, and is much more natural and useful. It can comprehend context through a person’s communications, messages, emails, and photographs, as well as even act depending on what’s on the screen. Once that’s done, for instance, users can point their camera at an object and pose Siri questions about it instantly.
Design and Colors
The new iPhones are available in four different colors: black, silver, glacier and a new one called burgundy. The Dynamic Island, the small area near the top of the screen, was also redesigned to display three different activities simultaneously, which include timer, sports score, or a ride-share tracker simultaneously.
Price and Availability
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at ₹1,64,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at ₹1,79,900. These will going to available for pre-order from September 12 and it will going to available in stores on September 18.
