New Delhi: Apple has started rolling out its latest iOS 26.1 update for the eligible iPhone models. In this update, they have unveiled a new Liquid Glass setting, additional language support for Apple Intelligence-powered Live Translation, and several more minor refinements. This latest update is also going to bring the newest gesture controls, stability improvements, and bug fixes across the system. This rollout has begun globally and is now appearing on eligible iPhones in India as well.

Liquid Glass setting: Now, the users have the latest customisation option under Settings that lets users fine-tune how transparent system elements appear. Apple stated that the Liquid Glass feature will enable users to choose between the default straightforward interface and the latest tinted mode that increases opacity in the applications and Lock screen notifications, improving text legibility and overall readability.
Lock Screen Swipe: The latest control has been added to turn off the swipe to open the camera shortcut on the Lock Screen. This setting, located under Settings > Camera > Lock Screen Swipe to Open Camera, will help users prevent accidental camera launches from the Lock Screen.
Live Translation: Apple is broadening the language availability of Apple Intelligence. The Live Translation feature for the AirPods now supports additional languages, including Chinese, Italian, Japanese, and Korean.
Apple Music: The Apple MiniPlayer now also supports swipe gestures for skipping to the next or previous track. However, Apple Music AutoMix, which automatically blends tracks for continuous playback, can now be used through AirPlay.
Local Capture: Apple has added the latest options for users recording audio using external USB microphones. There is now control over the gain levels, and the latest Local Capture section in Settings lets users select where the locally captured audio files are stored.
Other Tweaks: Additional refinements which include the manual workout logging in the Fitness applications, improved FaceTime audio performance under low bandwidth conditions, and the updated branding for the Apple TV applications with the latest logo and animation. Users will also find the newest slide to stop gesture for quickly stopping alarms and timers.
