New Delhi: Apple’s long-rumoured first-ever foldable iPhone may finally be taking shape, and it could solve one of the foldable’s most significant problems that other companies are facing. According to some recent reports, the company’s first foldable iPhone, expected to be unveiled sometime later this year, is also stated to feature a creaseless display. Until now, no company has demonstrated that such technology actually exists.
But at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2026, Samsung has showcased a latest foldable display with no visible crease, while also integrating an under-display camera into the panel. Reports also suggested that Samsung may use it in the much rumoured Galaxy Wide Fold, but Apple might be planning to use the same technology for the much anticipated iPhone Fold. While nothing is specific at the moment, several leaks and rumours have hinted that the iPhone Fold could feature a 5.5-inch outer display along with the 7.8-inch inner screen. While Samsung will be supplying the technology for the inner screen, the hinge, lamination and panel structure will be designed by Apple.
The tech giant may also use liquid metal components for its hinge to make the phone tougher. iPhone Fold may have a total of four cameras, with two 48MP shooters on the back and one selfie sensor on both the inner and outer screens. Rumours also have it that Apple may resort to Touch ID, which would be integrated into the power button like most foldables on the market.
