New Delhi: In some reports, the upcoming Android 17 will have many impressive changes that they are going to come with Android devices. One of the most noticeable changes coming in Android 17 is the latest blur effect applied to the system UI elements. Instead of those solid backgrounds, menus like the volume slider and power menu, which are now going to feature translucent layers, allowing wallpaper colours and application icons to show through subtly. The blur is impressively themed, giving the interface a more polished and modern look.
The screen recording tool is also now getting a significant overhaul. Instead of the current pop-up menu, the upcoming Android 17 is stated to bring a floating pill interface with streamlined options, which include: Record device audio, Record microphone input, and Show touches on screen. Once the recording starts, the pill will remain accessible for easy controls. Along with this, users can doodle on recordings using multiple colours, access settings, and preview clips before sharing or editing.
The reports also stated that Android 17 will come with a lock application option when long-pressing on applications. These features suggest that Google is testing native app-lock functionality, potentially enabling users to secure sensitive applications without relying on third-party tools. It is also expected that it will closely match the split notification and Quick Settings panels already used by several phone makers, including Samsung, Xiaomi, and OnePlus, in their customised Android versions.
