New Delhi: Amazon is now expanding their all over the tech warehouse and recently they have introduced an Delivery Smart Glasses for their drivers for delivery packages which is good thing they have focused on their drivers but along with this they have unveiled three new technologies that targets to make human employees more efficient while simultaneously reducing the need for the human labor, these three AI tools which includes sorting robot, AI management agent, and augmented reality glasses for the drivers.
According to some reports, these latest three technologies collectively demonstrate how CEO Andy Jassy’s push for AI adoption is reshaping the warehouse floor. Now, let’s see those three latest technologies they have unveiled for their warehouses:
Blue Jay Robot: According to some reports, this robot arm is designed to sort packages with greater speed, currently being trialled at the facility in South Carolina. The company plans to integrate it into same-day delivery centres to facilitate cheaper and faster deliveries.
Eluna AI Agent: This is an AI agent that is built to optimise human deployment. Eluna will help managers avoid bottlenecks by answering complex queries. This tool is scheduled for the test run at the company warehouse in Tennessee.
Augmented Reality Glasses: Delivery drivers will be able to wear these AI-powered glasses to identify the correct packages, receive turn-by-turn directions, and even flag the presence of dogs at drop-off locations. These functions currently rely on drivers’ smartphones, and the latest technology aims to prevent delivery delays.
Amazon has long stated that it wants to offload mundane tasks to AI and robots while improving worker safety. The company has already heavily invested in automation, reporting that roughly three-quarters of all its deliveries are robot-assisted. In some recent reports, it was stated that Morgan Stanley estimated that by the end of the following year, nearly 40 fulfilment centres equipped with the robots could result in up to $4 billion in annual savings.
