New Delhi: Apple has recently introduced its latest AirPods Max 2, its second-generation of its over-ear headphones, by unveiling upgrades to noise cancellation, sound processing, and AI-driven features. These headphones are powered by Apple’s H2 chip and bring the latest capabilities such as Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, and Live Translation.
This latest model also supports 24-bit, 48kHz lossless audio through USB-C alongside features focused on creators, such as studio-quality audio recording and camera remote function.
It is priced at Rs 67,900, and it is available in five colour options: Midnight, Starlight, Orange, Purple, and Blue. AirPods Max 2 will be available for pre-order starting from March 25, and it will be available early next month. One of the major upgrades is Active Noise Cancellation, and Apple also claims the upgraded model delivers up to 1.5 times more effective noise cancellation compared to the previous generation.
This system uses an upgraded computational audio algorithm and microphone processing to reduce the background sounds, such as aircraft engines or traffic.
Transparency mode has also been upgraded with the latest signal processing designed to make the surroundings sounds more natural when users need to remain aware of their environment. The company has also added several adaptive audio features that previously appeared on the latest AirPods models.
These also include Adaptive Audio, which dynamically adjusts noise cancellation and transparency levels depending on the environment, and Conversation Awareness, which automatically lowers playback volume when the user begins speaking.
It also includes Live Translation, powered by Apple Intelligence, which is designed to help users communicate across languages during in-person conversations. The headphones include Voice Isolation, which prioritizes the user’s voice and reduces background noise.
They have also unveiled the camera remote feature, enabling users to trigger photos or start and stop video recordings by pressing the Digital Crown when connected to an iPhone or iPad.
The headphones retain a similar acoustic design but add the latest high dynamic range amplifier, intended to deliver cleaner audio and more consistent bass response. These headphones also support Personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking. When it is connected using the included USB-C cable, the headphones support lossless audio at 24-bit and 48kHz, alongside lower latency for applications such as gaming and music production.
There several other features which includes Loud Sound Reduction, which helps to limit exposure to loud environmental noise, and Personalized Volume, which also adjusts listening levels based on the user’s preferences over time.
