New Delhi: If your ChatGPT’s thinking speed has been slowed down, then OpenAI has officially given control of the thinking speed of ChatGPT into your hands, but there is a catch: it is only for the premium users, those who have the ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Business users can select the time the AI model takes to respond to deeper queries. OpenAI claims that users wanted quicker responses in Thinking mode. The AI startup stated that the users on ChatGPT Plus, Pro and Business can now customise the time it takes in Thinking mode.
The thinking model on ChatGPT is used for more in-depth queries that require advanced reasoning skills and problem-solving. ChatGPT Plus and Business users will get two options in Thinking mode: Standard and Extended. Previously, Extended was the default mode for ChatGPT Plus users. The Standard mode is best suited for balancing speed and intelligence. For ChatGPT Pro users, there are two extra modes, Light and Heavy. The Light will give the quickest responses, while the Heavy will take the most time and provide the deepest answers to queries.
Recently, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman posted on X regarding another update to ChatGPT, the AI model now has a better integrated personalisation page with the various options under one roof. Now the users can change the chatbot’s personality, give custom instructions, or toggle memory settings through a single page. This update has started rolling out globally. Currently, ChatGPT comes with five personality options: Default, Cynical, Robot, Listener, and Nerd. Users can select the persona of their choice based on their requirements or mood, and the AI model will tweak itself. Users can also manage other settings, such as the ability for ChatGPT to customise responses, through the same page.
