New Delhi: OpenAI has officially announced they have started to rolling out GPT-5.4, its latest AI model, across the ChatGPT, its developers API and Codex. The model also combines improvements in reasoning, coding and agent driven workflows to handle the complex professional tasks more effectively.
The model will going to appear as GPT-5.4 Thinking, by replacing the GPT-5.2 Thinking for paid users. The update also aims to help the model complete real-world tasks more efficiently, including the work involving spreadsheets, presentations and documents.
Along with this OpenAI has also introduced GPT-5.4 Pro the higher performance version of the model especially designed for more demanding workloads and complex tasks. It integrates the coding capabilities previously unveils with GPT-5.3 Codex while improving performance across reasoning, knowledge work and software environments.
The model is designed to reduce back and forth interactions by producing the more accurate outputs in single attempt.
GPT-5.4 has showed improvements over GPT5.2 across several areas. The benchmark measuring the ability AI systems to perform professional knowledge work and the mode matches or exceeded industry professionals in 83% of comparisons compared with 70.9% for GPT-5.2.
The model also performs better on tasks involving spreadsheets and presentations. The model is more reliable than the previous versions. The test involving prompts where the users has previously flagged factual errors, GPT-5.4 generated responses that were 18% less likely to contain mistakes compared with GPT-5.2.
GPT-5.4 has been rolled out across the ChatGPT, the API and Codex. The model is available to Plus, Team and Pro users as GPT-5.4 Thinking by replacing GPT-5.2 Thinking. The developers can access the model through the API under the name gpt-5.4 while the gpt-5.4 pro is available for higher performance workloads.
