New Delhi: OpenAI makes an strong move for Indian users, which is in their subscription plan previously it was $23 per month which is roughly around Rs 1,999 which was not affordable for some of the users, so by seeing this much of the request for lower subscription plans, so this OpenAI has makes some changes in their subscription plans which is they have unveils ChatGPT GO especially for India, which subscription price is $5 per month means roughly around Rs 399 which is pretty affordable for the Indian users.

OpenAI has turned on local currency pricing for all of its plans just a few days ago, but with this launch, it will also enable users to pay through the UPI India payment framework. Nick Turley, Vice President at OpenAI and Head of ChatGPT, stated that these plans will increase the message, image generation, and file uploads by 10 times over the free tier. ChatGPT Go Plan will also enable better memory retention for more personalised responses. He stated this via post on the X (formerly Twitter).

His vision is to make ChatGPT more affordable for Indian users so they can use this AI Chatbot for almost all tasks, like content creation, for their enterprise or business. They have rolled out the GO in India first, and they will learn from the feedback before expanding to other countries. From the currency conversion standpoint, the Plus Plan was higher than $20 for the Indian users when it was offered in local currency. This latest Go Plan offers a more affordable alternative to people who are looking to use ChatGPT primarily for chat, image generation, and file processing.

If we discuss the monthly users of ChatGPT, last month, according to some sources, it was reported that ChatGPT has more than 700 million weekly users worldwide, and up to 500 million in March. OpenAI launched its updated image generator feature for ChatGPT in March, and since then, it has seen an uptick in usage in India, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated in a recent podcast that India is the company’s second biggest market, and with the Go Plan, it wanted to cash in on that.
