New Delhi: Adobe has officially announced its free access for students across 15,000 schools and 500 colleges in India to its creative and productivity tools, alongside the opportunity to pursue an industry-relevant certificate course at no cost via accredited higher education institutions and it was announced at India AI Impact Summit. Adobe has also stated that the initiative is aimed at preparing students for AI-first careers in fields such as design, animation, gaming, marketing, media, and much more, with the structured curriculum, training, and credentials built into the offering.
Now let’s discuss what Adobe is offering to students. This free access includes Adobe Firefly, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat, free of cost to students through accredited colleges and institutions. Beyond the software access, this package also includes a guided curriculum, training modules, and certification designed to improve employability after graduation. Students across 15,000 schools and 500 colleges via Content Creator Labs will get access to this. Adobe has stated its approach to generative AI focuses on commercially safe AI-generated content. Firefly is positioned as an all-in-one creative AI studio that enables users to work not only with Adobe’s own AI models but also with third-party models from companies such as Google, OpenAI, Runway, and others within the same environment.
Acrobat Pro is positioned as a productivity tool for editing documents, images, and collaborating on projects. Adobe has stated that the rollout aligns with the government’s focus on expanding jobs in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics sectors by 2030. The company’s global skilling and career pathway programme, Adobe India, has partnered with NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime digital skilling initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to offer free industry-relevant courses and certificates to learners across India. Leaners across India will be able to pursue structured courses focused on creative AI, productivity tools, and digital content creation.
