Healthcare start-ups in the country are considered a catalyst for innovation and a source of employment, with the Union government assisting in the ecosystem’s strengthening. Both pharmaceutical and healthcare start-ups have demonstrated their ability to create and commercialise breakthrough drug discovery devices and platform technologies to speed the life sciences industry’s development. Numerous innovative startups are scalable e-businesses evolving in a dynamic business environment.
1. Artelus
The Bengaluru-based Artelus was founded by Pradeep Walia, Rajarajeshwari K, and Vish Durga in 2015. Implementation of health technologies uses in-depth study technology to diagnose diabetic retinopathy. Powerful AI algorithms update images for testing. Artelus operates in all 502 locations (India, US, and Dubai) and has so far assisted in screening more than 81,000 patients. The introduction of health technologies was recently developed with a powerful AI diabetic retinopathy diagnostic system capable of performing eye tests in less than three minutes.
2. Tricog
Bengaluru-based health analysis company Tricog was founded in 2014 by Chirat Bhograj, Zainul Charbiwala, Udayan Dasgupta, and Abhinav Gujjar. Its products include: InstaECG and InstaEcho. To date, Tricog has operated in more than 12 countries, empowering 2,600 health workers and more, affecting three million-plus patients and saving more than 90,000 lives. It was also awarded the NASSCOM Artificial Intelligence Game Changer award in 2018.
3. OncoStem Diagnostics
OncoStem Diagnostics, established in 2011, incorporates ML algorithms to diagnose abscess anger and identify risk factors for recurrence within five years. Its flagship product CanAssist uses vector-based mathematical models to provide risk scores based on the five biomarkers and medical information of each patient. The team is working on strategies that include Support Vector Machines with linear characters and Radial Basis Function, Random Forest, Elastic Net, and standard blending models.
4. SigTuple Technologies
Bengaluru-based SigTuple Technologies was founded in 2015 by Tathagoto Rai Dastidar, Apurv Anand, and Rohit Pandey. SigTuple is in the process of doing a physical review of medical data – blood sample, urine and semen microscope, retina image analysis – using AI. It works in the fields of pathology and ophthalmology, providing an automated digital microscope and AI platform as solutions. Earlier last year, two of its co-founders left the party, and Tathagoto took over as CEO.
5. PharmEasy
Mumbai PharmEasy was founded in 2015 by Dharmil Sheth, Mikhil Innani, and Dhaval Shah to develop an app that connects users with pharmacies. The smartphone-based app connects users with these pharmacies to create seamless medical delivery.
PharmEasy uses ML and Big Data tools, including Tensorflow, Hadoop, HBase, Kafka, Spark, and Hive. Additionally, it uses a wide range of solutions to integrate data and application statistics. It operates with more than 80,000 pharmacies in more than 1200 cities across the country, serving more than five million customers.
6. HealthifyMe
Founded in 2012, HealthifyMe is a health and wellness platform based in Bengaluru. Founders Tushar Vashisht, Sachin Shenoy, and Mathew Cherian founded the company to introduce digital health care to Indians. It uses a visual AI-based assistant, Ria, which is always in touch with its users and solves their questions about fitness, nutrition, and health in 10 different languages. Additionally, the app provides dietary recommendations, uses AI to track calorie diets, and provides healthy recipes and appropriate tips.
7. Qure.ai
Founded by Prashant Warier and Pooja Rao in 2016, Qure.ai based in Mumbai, uses AI to make health care solutions more affordable and affordable. It uses in-depth reading algorithms to translate radiology images and scans – chest X-rays, CT scans on the head, POQUS, chest CT scans, etc. – within a few seconds. It also contains community solutions for COVID-19, public health, and tuberculosis
8. Niramai
Bengaluru-based Niramai Health Analytix was founded in 2016 by Geetha Manjunath and Nidhi Mathur. The health tech startup has developed Thermalytix, which uses AI and a high-resolution thermal sensing device for the detection of breast cancer at an earlier stage than the usual traditional methods or self-examination. The software-based medical device is low-cost, automated, and portable, making cancer screening possible in all clinics. The core technology is based on ML algorithms.
9. HealthKart
Founded in 2011, Healthkart is based in Gurgaon. Provides a wide range of health products, communities, and services to help customers achieve eligibility goals in their e-health store. It is probably the largest e-health store in India. They offer a wide range of health care items, including nutritional supplements, diabetic resources, home-based medical supplies, and childcare products. These applications can be purchased online and shipped by HealthKart itself to ensure safety. This healthcare platform was originally launched as a mobile app and website that will serve as a standard drug search engine site and has today become a market that allows consumers to browse and purchase prescription drugs.
10. Innovaccer
Innovaccer provides AI-based and AI-based health data analysis platforms with offices in India and San Francisco. The company offers four components – InNote, InConnect, InGraph, and InCare – which collect public health data. The program provides visual networks, patient monitoring, and decision support, helping frustrated health care providers to manage their liability even when they face problems in public health. In addition, it offers surgical management, patient referral, and CRM. It is an exciting example of how artificial intelligence can help inpatient care in the long run.
11. Medibuddy
Satish Kannan and Enbasekar are the co-founders of MediBuddy, MediBuddy is a digital healthcare platform for inpatient hospitalisation, outpatient services, and corporate wellness benefits. Also, it is India’s Largest & most Trusted Digital Healthcare Platform for inpatient, outpatient, wellness & fitness needs, with a network of 90,000 doctors, 7,000 hospitals, and 3000 diagnostic centres covering over 95% of all pin codes in India.

Mukesh Bansal is a Co-Founder, CEO, and W.I.P at CureFit. It is an integrated health app that integrates all aspects of a healthy lifestyle into one place. It has complete health contributions to all fitness and performance, healthy eating, and good mental health. The app offers fitness classes in many formats — dance, yoga, and strength, all day long, allowing users the opportunity to choose a format at a time they like. Led by star trainers, Cure. fit tracks performance with its Energy Meter, allows users to compete with others in real-time and provides weekly reports.
14. Practo
Shashank and Abhinav Lal are co-founders of Practo. It is a patient-focused, unbiased, independent medical website with over 100,000 doctor profiles from across India and Singapore. Patients can book confirmed appointments with doctors listed on Practo’s website. This is a free service for both the patient and the doctor. We had booked over 28,000 appointments for June 2014.
15. Indegene

Plum was launched in Bengaluru in 2019 by Abhishek Poddar and Saurabh Arora. They introduced Plum to speed up the adoption of health insurance in India. Abhishek Poddar believes that only half the people can buy health insurance in India, and many people rely on employers to provide health insurance. Therefore, Plum was introduced to help small and medium enterprises, also known as SMEs and beginners, find the right health care solution for their employees.

Founded in 2020 by Agarwal and Kulin Shah, Onsurity provides a self-serve platform where organisations can purchase flexible and customised healthcare plans for their employees. Vivek Tiwari- Founder & Chief Executive Officer – Medikabazaar. It is a B2B online marketplace for medical equipment and medical supplies. It provides its customers with a digital platform for medical product discovery and online purchase of medical supplies beyond geographical boundaries.
19. Pristyn Care
Pristyn Care was founded in 2018 by Harsimarbir Singh, Dr. Vaibhav Kapoor, and Dr. Garima Sawhney. It is a Gurgaon-based health-tech company that deals with minimally invasive medical and surgical interventions. The organisation has a network of more than 700 partnered hospitals and 100 clinics.
20. Glamyo Health
Glamyo Health, founded by Archit Garg and Preet Pal Thakur in January 2020, is a multispecialty healthcare services provider. It delivers all sorts of elective surgeries and cosmetic procedures, which are hassle-free in nature. It offers a 24/7 helpline number and online consultation with both medical and surgical facilities. Currently, it has a presence in 9 tier 1 cities across the country and aims at spreading to tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
