New Delhi: Bastion is a French startup that was founded in October 2022 to provide small companies with a comprehensive and easy-to-use cybersecurity solution. The company was created by former Palantir employees who have already raised $2.8 million in funding. What sets Bastion apart from other cybersecurity startups is its goal to be a company’s first and last cybersecurity subscription, bundling several different products that all revolve around cybersecurity risks with a software-as-a-service approach.

Bastion’s co-founders, Arnaud Fournier, Arnaud Drizard, Sébastien Duc, and Robin Costé, all worked on cybersecurity at Palantir. They realized that small companies often find it challenging to navigate the complex world of cybersecurity, especially when it comes to choosing the right products for their needs. Bastion’s ideal customer wants to ensure their company is safe, without the need for multiple cybersecurity products.

Bastion currently offers four different modules to ensure comprehensive cybersecurity for small businesses. Firstly, the startup runs phishing simulation tests, as many security issues come from employees handing out credentials. Secondly, Bastion scans the company’s infrastructure and web applications to ensure that the attack surface is as small as possible. Thirdly, Bastion scans and protects endpoints, such as employee laptops, providing an endpoint detection and response solution. And finally, Bastion helps companies monitor incoming emails to ensure they are legitimate.

One of Bastion’s key selling points is its affordability. The entire suite is available for around €10 per employee per month, making it accessible for small companies. However, companies can choose to subscribe to a portion of what Bastion has to offer, which may suit their specific needs and budget.

Bastion plans to partner with outsourced security service providers, banks, insurance companies, and more to sell its product. This strategy allows Bastion to reach small and medium-sized businesses that may not have the resources to manage their cybersecurity risks in-house. The company also plans to build a network of partners to help small and medium businesses and start selling Bastion to their own customers.

Bastion’s approach to cybersecurity is unique and tailored to small businesses’ needs. Its comprehensive suite of products, affordability, and partnerships with outsourced security service providers make it an attractive option for small and medium-sized businesses looking for a straightforward cybersecurity solution. As the company continues to develop new features and improve its product, Bastion may become an essential cybersecurity subscription for small businesses.
