New Delhi: In today’s world, all the new startups have made it easy for customers to order products and have them delivered to their doorsteps. People can effortlessly order products online and have them delivered to their homes in 7 business days. And now if we see those quick commerce businesses are growing well by those people and now the offline grocery stores are getting problems by those quick commerce online businesses, and so these customers are not going outside to purchase groceries and other essential products which are very common for daily use and some long-term use.
Those quick commerce businesses are the main problem for offline stores, as people are not coming to their stores for groceries and other essential products, and Mumbai has been facing this problem in recent times. A deep study conducted by JP Morgan on 50 offline stores in Mumbai shows that 60 percent of stores have seen a decline in their sales volume, and most attribute it to quick commerce from their dark stores.
This survey was taken to know how the quick commerce dark stores are affecting the offline grocery stores, and then they have the information and know that 50 offline stores across seven localities in suburban Mumbai more than 50 percent of dark stores have taken the footprint in the city. 82 percent of respondents have seen a decline in sales put on quick commerce, and 77 percent of respondents have seen that quick commerce are reason that people are not going to offline retailers.
Swiggy co-founder Sriharsha Majety also gave the straight point of view that quick commerce cannot take away business from Kirana Stores. He says that this is happening the 30-40 million customers do not love to go offline stores and they are ordering things online because they have a simple thing that they can do at home they are using these things Zomato co-founder Deepinder Goyal who also runs a quick commerce.
So by this survey, Mumbai has seen that quick commerce is the main reason that the retail shoppers are having problems in the sales of their products, because by the quick commerce starts customers are going for that thing, and they are not going to the offline stores. Because of these things, retail shoppers have problems and they see a decline in the sales of their products.
