New Delhi: TE Connectivity (TE), a renowned global leader in connectivity and sensors, has joined hands with the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) Start-up Hub to introduce its inaugural accelerator program in India. This program aims to foster and expedite the growth of start-ups in the fields of energy and electrification, smart cities, and IoT. It will provide these start-ups with valuable mentorship, access to resources, and a vast global network.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Rahul Mathur, Director at TE, stated, “We perceive India as not only an opportunity for innovation within the country but also for the entire world. We are thrilled to further strengthen our capabilities at our innovation hubs in Bangalore and Pune, which currently house over 1,200 product engineers working at state-of-the-art labs on cutting-edge technologies. Launching an accelerator program in Bangalore’s entrepreneurial ecosystem will enhance our capabilities and drive innovation. In collaboration with the BCIC Start-up Hub, our program encompasses specific models that offer guidance, mentorship, and potential global exposure through our network. Our goal is to share our experience and success with start-ups, fueling the next phase of their entrepreneurial journey.”

Klädtke, an executive at TE, shared his insights on the future of mobility, emphasizing that it will bring forth an entirely new ecosystem centered around electrified mobility. This ecosystem will encompass autonomous shuttles and trucks, software-defined vehicles, autonomous safety features, seamless vehicle-to-everything communication, V2X communication, mobility pods, electrified air taxis, micro-mobility, and numerous other advancements. He further emphasized the rapid pace of technological change, with electric vehicles being just the tip of the iceberg. To thrive in this new normal, innovation and speed are vital.

Consequently, TE is focused on expanding collaborations with start-ups and forging win-win partnerships. Devarajan, another key figure in the company, stated, “Mobility is life.” He highlighted India’s multi-faceted approach to achieving net-zero emissions through the Panchamrit principle. By uniting manufacturers, suppliers, and start-ups, India aims to enhance product and process technologies, such as light weighting, to facilitate progress toward a sustainable future. Developing strategies and action plans in the coming years is crucial for creating a better environment for future generations.

TE Connectivity India will provide innovative solutions to assist start-ups in optimizing designs, reducing costs, enhancing performance, and improving the user experience. TE’s technical mentors will guide start-ups in designing new components that meet customer requirements. The BCIC Start-up Hub will foster collaboration between start-ups, subject-matter experts, technology firms, and research institutions to address market challenges faced by entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the hub will facilitate partnerships with research institutions to leverage innovative research in the development of market-ready products.

Through this accelerator program and collaborative efforts, TE Connectivity and the BCIC Start-up Hub aspire to empower Indian start-ups and drive innovation in critical domains, ultimately contributing to the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangalore and beyond.
