Ahmedabad: The state government has organized a free mountaineering training camp for children, young entrepreneurs and youth who are fond of adventurous activities like climbing the peaks of various mountains in the state.
The government has organised a free mountaineering course under the Youth Services and Cultural Activities Department at the Swami Vivekananda Mountaineering Training Institute in Mount Abu. The selected candidates will not have to bear any expenses for accommodation, food and training. In addition, ST bus or railway second class fare will also be available for commuting from their hometown to the training institute.
In addition, the adventure course under the mountaineering training camp will be held from 09 to 15 May, 2026. In which boys and girls aged 8 to 13 years will be able to participate. In addition, the Advanced Rock Climbing Course will be held from 18th May to 01st June, 2026.
Candidates aged 15 to 45 years who wish to participate in this course should have passed the Basic Rock Climbing Course with A or B grade at the above institute and its sub-centres. In addition, candidates wishing to participate in the Coaching Rock Climbing Course to be held from 09th May to 07th June, 2026 should have passed the Advanced Course with A or B grade at the above institute.
The age limit of the candidate to participate in this course is 16 to 45 years and he should have passed Std. 10. The last date to participate in these three courses is 31st March, 2026, as informed by Swami Vivekananda Mountaineering Training Institute, Mount Abu.
According to the list, candidates who are natives of Gujarat and want to join this camp will have to apply by giving their name, address, telephone number, mobile number and other information. The participants will have to provide proof of being a native of Gujarat, medical certificate of physical fitness, proof of date of birth, consent letter of the guardian regarding the risk of accident-injury etc. and if the candidate has participated in a mountaineering training course, a true copy of the certificate regarding that must be attached.
In addition, the name of the course in which the trainee wants to participate should be written clearly in the application header. Applications with incomplete details and applications received after the prescribed time limit will not be considered.
