Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurates 100 years of FICCI in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, while inaugurating the 100th anniversary celebrations of the establishment of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in Ahmedabad, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving towards celebrating the centenary of independence, while the celebration of 100 years of FICCI and this immortal era of the country is a double bonanza for FICCI.

The Chief Minister delivered a motivational address at the meeting of the National Executive Committee of FICCI. He termed the successful journey of FICCI as the oldest, most prestigious and influential industry forum of the country as a significant milestone.

The Chief Minister said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, initiatives like Digital India-Make in India-Startup India-Skill India have enabled India to move towards self-reliance and development, and FICCI has also provided significant support.

Giving an impressive presentation of Gujarat’s development journey under the leadership and guidance of the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister said that Gujarat has shown the country and the world how much speed and scale sustainable development can be achieved with visionary leadership and commitment to development.

Bhupendra Patel said that Gujarat is leading the way with a contribution of 8.3 percent to the country’s GDP, 18 percent to the National Industrial Output and 27 percent to the country’s total exports.

It is the first state in the country to prepare a roadmap of ‘Developed Gujarat @2047’ to realize the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Developed India’. Under this roadmap, the state’s economy is targeted to reach 3.5 trillion US dollars by 2047, he added.

For this, the state government has focused on emerging sectors like semiconductors, AI and green growth. With the two semiconductor plants recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister in Sanand, Gujarat will now become an important part of the global semiconductor supply chain.

Not only this, the AI Center of Excellence, Data Center and Fintech operating in GIFT City will further strengthen the state in various emerging sectors. Gujarat has become a policy-driven state and the ‘most favorite destination’ for industries from all over the world with encouraging policies like Semiconductor Policy, I.T. and I.T.E.S. Policy, G.C.C. Policy. The Chief Minister added that today 100 out of the world’s Fortune 500 companies are operating in Gujarat.

Bhupendra Patel said that the Prime Minister has given the concept of ‘Women-Led Development’, not Women Development. In line with this, the ‘Her Start-up’ platform has recently been launched in Gujarat to promote women startups.

The Chief Minister also appreciated the fact that FICCI has been collaborating as a National Partner since the beginning in the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which has given Gujarat a reputation on the world map of trade and industry.

The Chief Minister expressed his expectation of FICCI’s active cooperation in building a developed India @2047 by realizing the Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘Sauno Saath, Sauno Vikas, Sauno Vishwas and Sauno Prayas’.

FICCI President Anant Goenka, while talking about the strategic choice of Ahmedabad as the launchpad for the centenary, praised the state’s industry-oriented policies. He said that the synergy between the state government’s proactive policies and private enterprises acts as a blueprint for other states in the country as well.

He said that Gujarat has proven how state government policies can change the economic landscape. As the entire country is moving towards the goal of Developed India@2047, FICCI is also keen to work with the state government to increase investment in manufacturing, services and digital public infrastructure in Gujarat, he added.

On this occasion, FICCI Gujarat State Council Chairman Gokul Jayakrishna emphasized on the role of the state as a hub for startups and green energy.
