New Delhi: In a glittering ceremony at The Leela Palace, New Delhi, the Aalekh Foundation, a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to gender equality and women’s empowerment, hosted the second edition of the Women Achievers Awards. The event, a beacon of recognition and inspiration, spotlighted the extraordinary contributions of women across diverse fields and activities.

The Women Achievers Awards, an initiative by the Aalekh Foundation, stands as a testament to the resilience and achievements of women who have excelled in their respective domains, becoming beacons of inspiration for generations. This year’s ceremony underscored the foundation’s unwavering commitment to acknowledging and uplifting women who have left indelible marks on society.

Esteemed guests graced the occasion, including luminaries like Attorney General of India Shri R Venkataramani, former Supreme Court Judge Justice Anil Dave, and Odissi exponent Sharon Lowen, among others. Their presence lent further prestige to the event, as did the insights of the distinguished jury panel, comprising stalwarts from various fields, whose expertise guided the selection of deserving awardees.

Dr. Rennie Joyy, the visionary founder of the Aalekh Foundation, reiterated the imperative of women’s empowerment for societal progress. Dr. Joyy emphasized, “Empowering women is not just a moral obligation but a strategic imperative for societal advancement. Women are pivotal to every facet of our lives, and their contributions are immeasurable.

The event honored women achievers in two categories: Women Lifetime Achievers and Women Achievers. Notable recipients included Padmashri Bharti Shivaji, Indian Classical Dancer, and Jill Carr Harris, Co-founder of Ekta Mahila Manch, among others. Their exemplary achievements serve as inspirations for aspiring individuals across the nation.

From Asha Batra, Founder Trustee of the Indian Cinema Heritage Foundation, to Anju Bobby George, Indian Olympic Athlete, the list of awardees spanned diverse fields, highlighting the multifaceted talents of women making significant impacts in their respective arenas.

Beyond the award ceremony, attendees were treated to inspirational speeches, musical performances, and a Sustainable Fabric Khadi Fashion Show, providing a platform for networking and enrichment.
