India Shines at Commonwealth Games 2026 as Boxers and Athletes Add More Medals

New Delhi: India continued its strong performance at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, with athletes winning several medals across boxing and athletics. On Day 10 of the Games, Indian players added more gold, silver and bronze medals to the country’s tally, further strengthening India’s position in the competition.

Boxers Preeti Pawar and Jaismine Lamboria won gold medals in their respective categories, continuing India’s impressive campaign in boxing. Their victories came after Indian boxers delivered several strong performances throughout the tournament and reached multiple finals.

Preeti Pawar won the gold medal in the women’s 54kg category after defeating Canada’s Scarlett Delgado. She remained in control during the bout and secured a convincing 5-0 victory through a unanimous decision. Her performance helped India add another gold medal to its tally.

Jaismine Lamboria also delivered an impressive performance in the women’s 57kg final. She faced Michaela Walsh of Northern Ireland and won the gold medal after a closely contested match. Her victory marked another major success for India’s boxing team and further increased the country’s medal count.

India also dominated the men’s para shot put F57 event, where Soman Rana and Shubham Juyal secured the top two positions. Soman Rana won the gold medal, while Shubham Juyal claimed silver, giving India an impressive one-two finish.

The result highlighted India’s growing strength in para athletics and added another memorable moment to the country’s campaign in Glasgow. The double podium finish also reflected the strong performances delivered by Indian para athletes during the Games.

Indian athletes achieved another double podium finish in the men’s triple jump event. Praveen Chithravel won the silver medal with a best jump of 16.58 metres, while Selva Prabhu Thirumaran secured the bronze medal with an effort of 16.52 metres.

Jamaica’s Jordan Scott won the gold medal with a best jump of 16.72 metres. However, the silver and bronze medals won by Praveen and Selva gave India another important boost in athletics and added to the country’s growing medal tally.

Indian boxer Jadumani Singh also won a silver medal in the men’s 55kg category. He faced Australia’s Jye Dixon in the final. Jadumani made a strong start and won the opening round, but Dixon recovered in the later rounds to secure the gold medal. Despite missing out on the top position, Jadumani’s performance added another important medal to India’s tally.

India’s strong performance on Day 10 came after a successful previous day, when the country won six medals across judo and athletics. Indian athletes had already created history in judo, while the country’s boxing team reached several finals and created multiple medal opportunities.

With strong performances across boxing, athletics and para athletics, India continued to show its growing strength across different sports. The latest results highlighted the depth of talent in the Indian contingent and gave the country another successful day at the Commonwealth Games 2026.
