Surat: Not one, two or three, now the country’s largest man-made fabric (MMF) hub in Surat has got the world’s first high-speed jacquard looms that can manufacture four sarees at a time. For the first time, this high-speed jacquard powerloom machine will be displayed at the three day long Surat International Textile Exhibition (SITEX) organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) at SIECC, Sarsana starting from February 21.
The SGCCI and SGCCI Trade and Industry Development Center has organised three day long SITEX at Sarsana from February 21 to February 23.
SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said, “Precision printing machine, polishing embroidery machine, high speed rapier loom, high speed airjet loom, high speed waterjet loom, velvet airjet will be exhibited in this exhibition. Mostly airjet is cotton based, but this exhibition will also have airjets producing viscose and polyester. 15 thousand visitors have registered for the expo.
Energy-operating costs will be reduced, small units will also be able to produce high quality fabrics
Kiran Thummar said that earlier, a large space was required to install jacquard looms, which was difficult for small industrialists. The advanced jacquard looms to be exhibited in this exhibition can be installed in just 7 feet of space and effective production can be achieved. Due to the compact design, the installation of the machinery will also be easy. Energy and operating costs will be reduced and high Production of quality jacquard fabric will be possible.
4-sheet high-speed rapier jacquard to be launched at the expo
A 4-sheet high-speed rapier jacquard machine with a length of 490 centimeters, which can be considered historic for the global textile industry, will be launched at the Sit Tex Expo for the first time. A 2-sheet machine was developed in Surat during the year 2009-10, through which it became possible to produce two sarees at a time. Then in the year 2015, a 3-sheet rapier jacquard machine came into the market, on which it became possible to make three sarees at a time. At present, only three-sheet machines are in operation worldwide, while the four-sheet advanced rapier jacquard machine, which is being launched for the first time in Surat, is considered to be extremely important for the textile industry of the whole world.
