SGCCI organises Textile Conclave 2026 to guide textile entrepreneurs 

Surat: The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) organized ‘Textile Conclave 2026’ with the aim of guiding textile entrepreneurs on global challenges and opportunities.

The keynote speakers in this conclave included Girish Luthra, Chairman of Luthra Group, Sanjay Jain, Former President of Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CIT) and Chairman of TT Limited, and Gurudas Aras, Artificial Intelligence Expert, who provided important guidance to the entrepreneurs of Surat.

SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that Surat’s textile industry contributes significantly to the country’s economy and in the current global context, it has become imperative to move forward by understanding issues like sustainability, technology and free trade agreements.

Luthra Group Chairman Girish Luthra gave guidance on the topic ‘Sustainability, Circularity and Compliance to Meet European Union Standards for Increasing Exports through FTA’. He gave detailed information on the stringent environmental standards of the European Union, the need to reduce carbon footprint, circular economy model and traceability systems. He said that to get the benefits of FTA, it is essential to follow international rules and compliance.

Sanjay Jain, Former President of Citi and Chairman of TT Limited, highlighted the topic ‘India’s Recent FTAs and Opportunities for MMF Textiles and Establishing Inter-Cluster Coordination’. He gave information about the opportunities arising in the MMF textile sector in the context of the recent FTA agreements signed by India. He stressed on the importance of integrated development by achieving synergy between different textile clusters.

Shri Gurudas Aras, Artificial Intelligence Expert, gave a presentation on the topic ‘Implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Textiles’. He emphasized on the possibilities of increasing production capacity, improving quality control, making demand forecasting and supply chain management more efficient through the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

The Chairman of the Chamber’s Textile Task Force and former President of the Chamber, Ashish Gujarati, gave information about the conclave. He said that the main purpose of this conclave was to provide guidance and direction to the textile industrialists of Surat to make them competitive in the global market.
