New Delhi, September 17: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, organised the second SECL Vishwakarma Awards at its Headquarters in Bilaspur today on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti and the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. A total of 75 regular and contractual workers were felicitated for their exemplary contribution to mining, operations, maintenance, supervision and other technical activities.
During the program sanitation workers were also felicitated under the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva Special Campaign 6.0.
The programme was attended by Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), SECL; Shri Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, Director (Technical/Operations); and Shri Nripendra Nath, Director (Technical/Projects & Planning), Additional Charge, along with representatives of trade unions and various employee associations, HoDs, Officers and employees from SECL’s operating areas.
At the start of the program , a message from Union Minister for Coal and Mines Shri G. Kishan Reddy for coal workers was also read out. The message acknowledged the contribution of coal workers towards the country’s energy security and development and appreciated their hard work and dedication.
Sanitation Workers Felicitated under Swachhata Hi Seva – Special Campaign 6.0
As part of Swachhata Hi Seva and Special Campaign 6.0, sanitation workers engaged in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across SECL establishments were also felicitated during the programme. The initiative recognised their contribution to maintaining clean and well-organised workplaces and highlighted the importance of dignity of work and collective responsibility towards cleanliness.
Under Special Campaign 6.0, SECL has set measurable targets for cleanliness, waste management, space optimisation and record management. The company has identified 225 sites for cleanliness activities, covering approximately 40 lakh square feet, and has set a target for disposal of 3,300 metric tonnes of scrap.
With effective collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste as the key focus of Special Campaign 6.0, SECL will undertake systematic e-waste management activities across its establishments. The campaign will also target review of 500 physical files, weeding out of 200 physical files, review of 7,000 e-files and closure of 3,000 e-files.
