New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam to highlight the importance of enthusiasm and positive energy in achieving success, connecting an ancient idea with India’s present-day growth story. Posting on X, he said that a person who remains active and motivated in their efforts is more likely to succeed, while also stressing that hardworking citizens are the true strength of the nation.

The verse he shared “अनिर्वेदो हि सततं सर्वार्थेषु प्रवर्तकः। करोति सफलं जन्तोः कर्म यच्च करोति सः॥” essentially means that a person who does not lose enthusiasm and keeps working consistently is able to make their efforts successful. Along with this, the Prime Minister wrote that energetic and dedicated citizens create new paths of development, helping the country move towards prosperity, self-reliance, and progress.
This message comes at a time when India continues to maintain its position as one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world. Recent projections suggest that the country’s GDP growth could remain between 6.5% and 7% in the current financial year, even as global economic conditions remain uncertain. Economists often point out that this steady growth is not just because of policy decisions, but also due to the rising ambition and participation of India’s young population.
With more than 65% of its population below the age of 35, India has a strong demographic advantage. Over the past few years, government initiatives such as Skill India, Startup India, and Digital India have aimed to channel this youthful energy into productive sectors. The results are visible in the startup ecosystem, where India now has over 100,000 registered startups and more than 100 unicorns, making it one of the largest innovation hubs globally. This growing culture of entrepreneurship reflects the same idea mentioned in the Subhashitam, that consistent effort and belief can lead to meaningful success.
At the same time, India’s digital transformation has further strengthened this momentum. The country has seen a massive rise in digital payments, with billions of transactions taking place every month through UPI. This shift not only shows technological progress but also highlights how quickly people are adapting to change when given the right opportunities and encouragement. Similarly, investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, and renewable energy have continued to grow, creating new jobs and boosting economic activity across sectors.
