Odisha Governor Urges Young People to select Startups in OUTR Convocation

New Delhi: When Odisha University of Technology and Research (OUTR)  had its convocation ceremony, the Governor of Odisha had a powerful message to students. He encouraged the young to look into the business related fields rather than just rely on the government or the privates.

Talking to graduating students, the Governor mentioned that India requires job creators, not only job seekers. He emphasized the role of startups and innovation in solving local issues and also in creating jobs. To him, the young minds are energetic, creative and brave and such qualities can be used to develop new businesses.

The officials of Odisha also talked of the emerging startup ecosystem in the state. They told them that the government has been helping young entrepreneurs by financing them, mentoring and incubation centres. A large number of Odishi based startups are currently operating in agriculture, clean energy, education, and healthcare.

Students were urged by speakers to embrace the use of technology in coming up with solutions to rural and urban predicaments. They added that it is not all about money in entrepreneurship, it is about improving the society.

Nevertheless, students were also advised to be patient by their leaders. According to them, failure is a component of the startup process and it should not put off young founders. The most important thing about long term success is learning on the mistakes.

India is the country that depends on the innovative young generation that is willing to explore and create something new. With the assistance of their youthful talent, Odisha will be a vibrant startup hub.
